The writing style did not work for me. Very amateurish.
I paid $.99 and in my opinion it was not even worth that. I got the sample and thought (hoped) that the writing would get better, but it didn't. I loved the premise, but the story was poorly executed.
There was not build-up. The "drama" that happened was so predictable. Leah was annoying.
There was the party-girl BFF (shocking). It could have been so good.

Leah is left to take care of her baby brother after he mother runs off with a man and leaves her children with the grandmother. Leah goes to college, works as a waitress, and takes of her brother when she meets Chase.

My opinion. Reading is subjective. You may love it.

Chasing Leah Journey Series Book 1 edition by Cori Williams Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

I absolutely fell in deep love with this story. Poor Leah never had a good childhood. Her selfish mother put an end to that. It was bad enough that the mother was a terrible mom but to go and get pregnant when the first unwanted child was almost grown is ridiculous. This made Leah a strong person because she had to become responsible at a very young age. I do not understand the grandmother either. I know she knew Leah had a rough life but to not step up and take responsibility for Celeb her grandson.
I was so happy when Leah finally let Chase into her life. She was finally doing something for her own happiness. I loved Chase from the beginning of this book. I didn't get the other male character that was interested in Leah. I hate it when author's make series out of books that could have ended with a simple yes. Overall I really enjoyed this book. I am about to buy book 2 in this new series I hope that there will not be more than 4 books in this series.
This was a great story of strength and love between Leah, Caleb and Chase.

Leah is in college trying to hold down a job and take care of her 3-year old brother Caleb, left in her care after her drunk mother takes off. She is making things work and doing a bang up job of it alone, until she meets Chase.

Chase is the resident hottie that lives across the hall, full of tattoos and plays in a band. Leah has no time for Chase in her busy life, but he doesn't take no for an answer.

You can't help but pull for Chase to break through to Leah and win her heart. He is the epitome of bad boy on the outside, but a mush ball on the inside. She has such a wall around her heart, it takes a lot of work for somebody to get to it.

This was a good story, some typos, I usually don't let that distract me too much from reading it. There is a bit of a cliffhanger ending, but the second book is out already so I didn't mind that either.
There were a lot of typos in this book, enough to be constantly distracted by them. The writing style didn't quite work. The dialogue seemed kind of stilted to me.

Leah was pretty annoying. A drama queen who constantly overreacted. She was always running away when something happened. When she mentioned that she was more mature than most girls her age I LOL'd! Not true at all.

Chase was completely perfect to the point of being unbelievable. I really think any 22 year old guy would cut his losses over all the girlfriend drama. Especially when that girlfriend comes with a kid in tow.

It seemed rather convenient that Leah always had an available babysitter, and it made Caleb seem more like a plot point than an actual character.

It seemed rather rushed and some important parts were kind of glossed over, like the situation with Leah's mom.

It does end on a cliffhanger, but the sequel is out.
Leah has never had an easy life. When she was little she was always taking care of herself because her mom cared more about drinking and hooking up with men then being there for her daughter. One day her mom comes home and tells her that life is going to be changing what she meant is life was going to be changing for Leah. Her mom gets pregnant and doesn't take care of her baby brother any more than she took care of her. So Leah is determined to make sure her brother's childhood is better than hers ever was. During this time Leah meets Allie the woman who will become her best friend and the person who tries to push her to have more in her life. Allie is constantly trying to get Leah and Chase to meet but this only happens in their own time. This is a great story about the love of family, the strength to fight for something more than you ever have before, and never to give up on the chance for true love. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
I really liked this book.
The story development kept you reading and you soon fell in love with each of the characters.
Not wanting to have any spoilers I'll try my best to not go into any "details".
Leah is a young women with a tough upbringing. At a young age she held the responsibility that most young ladies or adults for that matter would ever dream of. She's independent and doesn't like to lean on anyone. She cares for her 3 yr old brother without a second thought. Her love and devotion is breathtaking.
Chase is a man that knew what he wanted out of life. Tattoos, band member, tongue ring. Yummy! He had quite the opposite upbringing. Being the only male out of 7 children it gave him the kind of perspective that most women crave their man would have.
I like all the other supporting characters as well and thought they added that extra spice.
Why did this book didn't get the full 5 Stars?? Editing could have been much better. The spelling and grammar at times was very frustrating. Some sentences left words out or didn't make sense at all. I really liked this book and would like others to see this story as what it is and not get hung up on all the typos.
The ending left a cliffhanger and I can't wait to continue to read about Leah & Chase!
